Another person charged in connection with the April 2023 bar brawl that ended with gunshots at the Geneva Bar & Grill was sentenced Wednesday to probation, community service and a suspended prison term after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct.

Mikayla Jean Olson, 24, initially faced one count of fifth-degree assault and one count of third-degree rioting in the case, but pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in August as part of a plea agreement.

The lawsuit requested, among other things, a suspension of the jail sentence of 60 days, no additional jail time, one year of probation and the requirement to stay away from bars/liquor stores and to stay away from the Geneva Bar Association.

A video obtained from the bar showed co-defendant Desiree Nadine Klemp, 29, starting the fight when she threw a large drink and a cup in the faces of several people standing at the bar after a song she had paid for was skipped on the jukebox . A general argument then began inside. A video showed Olson throwing a drink at someone who others were attacking.

The fight eventually moved outside, where Dustin Smitty reportedly shot into the air in the parking lot and then fired at a vehicle as it drove away. He pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree assault, one for each of the two people in the vehicle who were shot. He was sentenced in December to three years and three months in prison.

Robert James Smitty pleaded guilty to fifth-degree assault in the case and was sentenced in January to one year of supervised probation.

Klemp also pleaded guilty in August to an amended charge of disorderly fighting or affray and is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 30.
