30 students faint and suffer breathing problems due to a suspected gas leak in Tiruvottiyur

CHENNAI: At least 30 students fainted at a private school in Tiruvottiyur on Friday, allegedly due to a gas leak. According to reports, the fumes caused panic among officials and students of the school on Village Street in Tiruvottiyur as well as people in the neighborhood and the children were immediately rushed to safety.

According to a report from Maalaimalar, panic ensued as students fainted. According to the report, two of them were taken to Government Stanley Medical College Hospital. Both are currently stable.

Some of the students at Victory Matric Higher Secondary School had fainted and the school was immediately evacuated.

The source of the gas leak is unclear, but it is believed to have come from a nearby chemical plant. The number of children affected is expected to increase.

When parents heard about this, they rushed to the school to pick up their children, resulting in a large crowd outside the school and chaos in the entire neighborhood.

Authorities are investigating the source of the gas leak.
