State police said they were dispatched to the gate of the facility on Rainbow Road around 11:40 a.m. Thursday

Air Guard officials said they conducted a check on Culpepper. It was discovered that he had an active warrant for his arrest for a probation violation out of Escambia County, Florida.

State police said they checked whether the warrant was extraditionable and confirmed to Florida authorities that they would take Culpepper, of Connecticut, into custody.

Culpepper was positively identified by his Connecticut driver's license and told officers that he knew of his charges in Florida but believed the matter had been resolved.

Culpepper was subsequently arrested and taken to the state police barracks in Hartford. The accusation of detention pending extradition was raised against him.
