Attempted murder suspect arrested in King City Thursday; King City Police – KION546

KING CITY, Calif. (KION-TV) – King City Police said Friday that there was an attempted murder in King City near the 100 block of Leeds Avenue on Thursday around 3:05 p.m.

According to police, the suspect, 36-year-old Sergio Flores-Merino of King City, stabbed a woman multiple times at a residence in the area.

Officers said they were able to provide medical aid to the woman and that she was transported to a trauma center, where her condition was listed as critical but stable.

According to police, Flores-Merino was found near the residence, positively identified as a suspect and then taken into custody on charges of attempted murder, residential burglary and resisting arrest.

According to police, Flores-Merino has been charged and is currently in the Monterey County Jail.

Police investigated the incident and determined that the victim and suspect are related; The attack stemmed from a family disagreement.
