Poplar Bluff man accused of shooting dog

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) – A southeast Missouri man is accused of shooting a dog.

Raymond Morris, 55, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon and animal abuse.

According to Poplar Bluff police, on Thursday, October 24, they responded to a home in the 600 block of Dewey Street for a report of shots fired.

According to the police, a resident shot a dog on the property without good reason and while drunk.

They say formal charges will be filed against Morris with the Butler County Prosecutor's Office.
