The defender prepares the team for the game against Sevilla FC

RCD Espanyol plays against Sevilla FC at the start of the eleventh LaLiga matchday and is ready for the game on Friday evening. Talismanic defender Leandro Cabrera spoke to the media on Wednesday to preview the game.

“The defeat against Athletic Club was a tough setback, but it is a relief to be back in the competition so quickly. We are focused on winning the game and want to be in the game from the first minute. We want to compete at the highest level,” he told journalists.

“Sevilla are a very competitive team and a historic team in the division, but we have grown and developed in the last few weeks. We have the points we expected at this point in the season. We could have more, but we have. We won the decisive games against direct rivals and were therefore strong at home.”

He also pointed out that “we have been through very bad times together and we do not want to experience them again. This is a very difficult place to win but the way we lost doesn't represent us or the club. We know the schedule is tough no matter who comes our way, but we have great confidence in our ability.”

He admitted that the next game “is very important. It is urgent for us to win and make amends for what happened last week. The team competes well and has even lost at home to Villarreal and Real Sociedad. We will try to take advantage of our form.”
