2024 Republican presidential nominee and former President Donald Trump campaigned in Austin, Texas, where he presented his solutions to fix the U.S. immigration system. Also speaking at the rally were Alexis Nungaray, whose daughter was allegedly killed by two illegal Venezuelan immigrants, and Paul Perez, president of the National Border Patrol Council. At the start of his speech, Trump criticized a federal judge's decision to block Virginia's attempt to purge voter rolls. Virginia, under the leadership of Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin, claimed that those removed from the rolls had not proven their citizenship. The case could go to the Supreme Court. close
