Nottm Forest 3-1 Leicester (Oct 25, 2024) Match analysis

Chris Wood scored a brace as Nottingham Forest moved to fifth place in the Premier League with a 3-1 win over hosts Leicester City in the East Midlands derby on Friday, underlining their excellent start to the season.

Ryan Yates gave Forest the lead with a rare goal before Jamie Vardy equalized for the home side. The visitors were much the better team in the second half and Woods' brace gave them a comfortable win.

Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen made an impressive save from point-blank range to deny Nicolas Dominguez, Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi hit the post and Yates missed a passer as the visitors should have won by a larger margin.

Forest move into the top five with 16 points from nine games, despite having played a game more than the teams around them. Leicester remain in 14th place with nine points from as many games and continue to drop goals. (Reporting by Nick Said, Editing by Pritha Sarkar)
