Phil Lesh, 84, remembered on SiriusXM's Grateful Dead Channel

SiriusXM is sad to announce that Phil Lesh, founding member and bassist of the Grateful Dead, passed away on Friday morning. He was 84.

Tune in to Grateful Dead Channel (Ch. 23) in cars and on the SiriusXM app as David Gans, Gary Lambert and Big Steve Parish pay tribute to Lesh and take calls. Later today, listen to a special presentation of Lesh's 84th birthday concert from earlier this year at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY.

“Phil Lesh, bassist and founding member of The Grateful Dead, passed away peacefully this morning,” reads a post on his official Instagram account. “He was surrounded by his family and full of love. Phil brought great joy to everyone around him and leaves a legacy full of music and love. We ask that you respect the Lesh family’s privacy at this time.”
