Woman is accused of falsely claiming Colerain Township officers sexually assaulted her, police say

CINCINNATI (WXIX) — A woman is accused of falsely claiming that Colerain Township officers sexually assaulted her, according to Colerain Township police.

According to officials, 37-year-old Kenyada Hinton filed a citizen complaint against two Colerain Township officers on Sept. 4, alleging that officers sexually assaulted her in a detention center restroom during her arrest for driving under the influence in June 2023 she tried to provide a urine sample.

Her arrest and body camera footage were sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for investigation.

Police said BCI reviewed the case and decided not to open a formal investigation because there was insufficient evidence of a crime.

The Colerain Township Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division reviewed the complaint and body camera footage and concluded that she had provided a urine sample, but neither officer went to the restroom where they believe the misconduct occurred, police said.

Officers say she never seemed distressed when interacting with them during her arrest.

On Friday, investigators interviewed Hinton and she continued to make the same false accusations, police said.

According to officials, she is accused of making a false allegation of police misconduct.

When they were arrested, police said they found a loaded pistol in the government building.

She is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
