This came after an incident in August when police responded to reports of a person being shot on South Trenton Street near Maywood Avenue. He fired several shots at a house, hitting someone, before entering another house.

SWAT was called to the scene when he refused to come out until he finally surrendered.

According to court documents, Belton could face up to 12 years in prison if he doesn't meet all of the terms of the deal. In exchange for his guilty plea, two additional charges were dropped.
