Indian River County officials arrest a fugitive accused of killing his wife in Orlando

Indian River County officials arrested a murder suspect who fled Orlando after he allegedly shot and killed his wife earlier in the day.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office (IRCSO) said it received a vehicle-related homicide alert on Monday.

According to Orlando police, the suspect, identified as Armando Verdecia Carralero, 54, shot his wife before fleeing around 1:15 p.m.

Officials reported that a Carralero was crossing into Indian River County and law enforcement was immediately notified of its presence.

A sergeant found Carralero's vehicle, which led to the IRCSO executing a plan to capture him, the report said.

Carralero was arrested by IRCSO deputies and Vero Beach Police near 929 14th Lane in Vero Beach. He has been charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and is currently being held at the IRC Jail.
