The owner, Eyad Zeid, told ABC7 this is the second time his cafe has been targeted since it opened in the summer. A similar crime occurred at the restaurant last month.

Chicago police confirmed the crimes occurred in the early morning hours of Oct. 25 and Sept. 2 in the 4600 block of North Broadway.

Community members gathered Friday to paint murals on the plywood above the windows.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the cafe repair the damage.
