Wild Police: Man arrested in connection with road rage shooting

Authorities arrested a man Monday in connection with a drive-by shooting in Savage.

As previously reported, an argument at the intersection of Stagecoach Road and Preserve Trail led to a shooting that occurred about a half-mile away. When police arrived, they found a victim who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Savage Police Department confirmed with 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that this was a road rage incident.

At the time, the shooting victim was in his Eco Shield work truck. The company confirmed with 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that one of its employees was involved in the incident and that it has completed road violence prevention training.

Savage Police say a 47-year-old man was arrested without incident at his home in Shakopee on Friday. The man has a prior felony conviction that prohibits him from possessing a firearm.

The suspect is currently in custody at the Scott County Detention Center on four charges, including attempted second-degree murder and second-degree assault.
