3 injured, 1 seriously, in Provo accident

PROVO — Three people were injured in a crash in Provo Tuesday afternoon.

About 3:15 p.m., a Nissan truck was southbound on State Street when a Toyota Scion turned left in front of the truck at 1720 North, Provo police spokeswoman Janna-Lee Holland said. The cars collided and both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles.

The truck driver and a passenger suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Utah Valley Hospital, police said.

The Scion driver suffered serious injuries that were initially life-threatening, according to police. He was taken to the hospital and was stabilized by 8 p.m.

The area was closed for several hours while police investigated the accident.
