Black Ops 6 preseason patch notes

ZOMBIES

Turn-based zombies will make their long-awaited return at launch with two brand new maps: Terminus and Liberty Falls. The story of Dark Aether continues as we watch three members of Requiem escape from their prison on Terminus Island with the help of newcomer Maya Aguinaldo, just as dimensional rifts occur simultaneously in both the Philippine Sea and Liberty Falls, West Virginia, come.

Note: The main quest and all side quests for both maps will be activated on October 25th at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM BST. Clear your calendar, assemble your crew and stay tuned… the Zombies team has created a difficulty tuning pass to increase the difficulty from round 25 and beyond. “Der Wunderfizz” will also only appear after round 25. Plan accordingly and prepare for launch.

Want to collect some quirky GobbleGums in the game? You get these by successfully completing an exfil on round 15 or higher:

  • Round 15-29: 1 whimsical GobbleGum
  • Round 30-44: 2 whimsical GobbleGums
  • Round 45+: 3 bizarre GobbleGums

Weapons

At the start, 33 weapons are waiting to be unlocked and customized by you. For our full weapons breakdown, check out the COD blog.

Weapon balance

While there have been many weapon balance changes across the board since the beta, we consider the release to be our first day for the entire arsenal. Weapon balance is a constant work in progress, so we will evaluate data and feedback and provide regular updates.

  • In the multiplayer beta, we tested a change that disables aim assist at close range. Although this was a change in the right direction, we felt it was a bit distracting when exceeding the close range threshold. Therefore, we adapted our approach to linearly interpolate the strength of target support. This means that the aim assist is much weaker at close range and gradually increases in strength at close range. Of course, we will continue to monitor and evaluate the data and player feedback.
  • Improved speed when switching pistols and dedicated melee weapons
  • Slight increase in weapon butt melee attack speed
  • Adjustments to sway, rocker, and general weapon movement to improve aim point when entering ADS
    • Further improvements will follow in Season 01
  • Improved depth of field on all weapons

Movement

  • Added a toggle option for corner slicing
  • Added an option to set the hold time for performing a dive or slide depending on your slide/dive setting
  • Added a Smart Motion option to adjust the Mantle Assist angle between narrow, medium, and wide

Multiplayer map adjustments

Careful eyes have already noticed a handful of changes we've made to our beta maps thanks to everyone's great feedback. Our goal will always be to provide fair and consistent gameplay. Because of this, we've introduced some additional cover and changes to make firefights a little more fair, as well as various lighting changes. The following choices don't represent all of the changes we've made, but they help give an idea of ​​what you can expect from beta to release.

Skyline

  • The cover points around the whirlpool in the center of the map have been expanded.
  • Added new planters for cover near the far spawn point.
  • Multiple cover options have been added across the map.
