Russian drone hits residential building in Kyiv, killing young girl

A Russian suicide drone hit a 25-story apartment building in Kiev's Solomianskyi district on October 25, killing a young girl and injuring five people, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported.

A 15-year-old girl was killed in the attack, Klitschko said. Five others were injured, one of whom was hospitalized

According to the Ukrainian emergency service, the attack damaged several apartments on the 17th, 18th and 19th floors and 100 people were evacuated from the building. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the attack. The strike caused a fire to break out on the upper floors of the building.

An air alert sounded in Kiev and several other Ukrainian oblasts around 9 p.m. local time due to a massive Russian drone attack that has been occurring almost daily in Ukraine for over a month.

About 30 minutes later, explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital.
