Police are investigating after two people were found dead in Newfane

NEWFANE, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont State Police are investigating after two people were found dead at a home in Newfane on Friday.

State police said they received a call just after 5 p.m. Friday from relatives who reported finding two dead family members at the home on South Wardsboro Road.

Initial investigations revealed that it was an isolated incident involving two people who knew each other.

According to police, everyone involved will be held accountable, but no one is in custody.

According to authorities, there is no danger to the public. The crime scene is currently being processed to preserve evidence. The two people will be taken to the chief medical examiner's office in Burlington for an autopsy.

Police have not released their names.
