Community supports South Point teacher after stabbing

SOUTH POINT, OHIO (WSAZ) – After yesterday's incident at South Point Elementary, the South Point community is rallying to support employees during this difficult time.

Harlee Hall, co-owner of GR8 Pies, says: “I know they are probably stressed and anxious. There’s free chicken and cake – it won’t cure it, but it might make it a little better.”

GR8 Pies and Guthrie's of South Point has decided to give free food to employees of the South Point School District.

Guthrie's owner Sam Gue says he has teamed up with his co-owner and general manager. Together they thought about what they could do for the community.

“And we were just thinking about what we could do to maybe shed some light on what was a pretty tough day yesterday,” Gue says.

Gue personally handed out meals and hugged teachers as they came in.

Employees say it's amazing to see what the community can do.

Aleeia Kleinman, a GR8 Pies employee, said: “It was just great to see everyone come together to see what our community can do in this time of need.”

“I think it's important to look out for your neighbors whenever times like this happen in your community,” Hall said.

In times like these, it's important to lean on the members of your community, and that's exactly what South Point is doing today.
