Traffic on the A21 came to a standstill due to a police operation

There have been traffic disruptions in both directions on a section of the A21 in Kent due to an ongoing police incident.

At around 08:00 BST on Saturday, National Highways said northbound traffic was stopped between the A26 East and A26 West due to the incident.

Shortly afterwards the closure was put in place on both carriageways from the A26 at Tonbridge to the A225 at Sevenoaks, National Highways added.

Kent Police have been contacted for further information.
