Will the war between Israel and Gaza end after the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar?

Israel and Hamas have paid little attention to suggestions from Western leaders to kill the militant group's leader Yahya Sinwar This month offers an “opportunity” to put an end to brutality War in Gaza.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called on the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu They sought to “take advantage” of Sinwar's demise when they met in Jerusalem on Tuesday and called for the release of the 101 hostages believed to still be held by Hamas, as well as a solution to the conflict that ” lasting security for Israelis and Palestinians alike”.

But Middle East experts argue that Sinwar's elimination has not changed the underlying reasons for the war that has been going on for over a year – and dismiss Western suggestions as “wishful thinking.”

The day after Sinwar's death at the hands of Israeli forces, Netanyahu addressed the families of the Israeli hostages and promised to continue military operations in Gaza “with full force until all your loved ones, who are also our loved ones, return home.”
