UN Secretary-General António Guterres is once again under fire for not speaking out against Francesca Albanese, the controversial UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, who has been condemned as anti-Semitic.

Albanese travels to the United States to present her latest report, “Genocide as Colonial Extinction,” to the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee, which addresses social, humanitarian and cultural issues.

According to Anne Bayefsky, president of Human Rights Voices and director of the Touro University Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust, Albanese's report, now widely circulated among member state representatives, shows that “the masks have been taken off.”

“Albanese's goal is the destruction of the Jewish state, period,” Bayefsky said, claiming Albanese's report was “a new, unhinged rant – translated, reproduced and distributed around the world by the United Nations – without any knowledge of the regional one.” and religious history.”

“[Albanese] claims the Jewish people were colonists in Israel and engaged in a genocidal rampage as part of a “centuries-old project.” It would be ridiculous if their incitement and calls for violence were not so deadly.

Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, told Fox News Digital Albanese: “She has failed in her role as special rapporteur to the United Nations. She has no interest in the well-being of Israelis or the ordinary people of Gaza, but has instead shown that she supports the spread of hatred.” She has managed to continue to spread dangerous anti-Semitic phrases and openly denounce the Hamas terrorists occupying Gaza to support.”

He also warned U.S. colleges, saying Albanese's “recent reports show how deeply rooted her anti-Semitism is,” adding that she “should not be allowed near educational institutions where she spreads her vicious anti-Semitism under the flag of the United States.” United Nations can spread”.

On October 17, Albanese tweeted a diatribe accusing the Jewish state of “bloodlust” and calling it a “must for the ages.”

The article was accompanied by a cartoon showing a person in a respirator and protective suit, wearing the Israeli flag and an American flag pin, and whose bloody hands gave two thumbs up. Bayefsky said the image was “classic anti-Semitism.”

Fox News Digital asked Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman for UN Secretary-General António Guterres, whether the secretary-general could reprimand Albanese for her anti-Semitic comment and whether Guterres believes Albanese is acting in accordance with the UN code of conduct.

Haq said Guterres does not “comment on reporters” “as a matter of principle” and has no authority to fire Albanese or reduce her salary.

Asked about her anti-Semitic comments, Haq said the UN chief was “strictly against any anti-Semitism.”

Albanese's critics claim she does not adhere to the UN Code of Conduct for Human Rights Council Officials for Special Procedures, which states that “all human rights must be treated fairly and equally” and that elected officials must “uphold the highest standards of… probity.” , impartiality, justice, honesty and good faith.”

Pascal Sim, spokesman for the U.N. Human Rights Council, was asked by Fox News Digital whether the council might censure Albanese for her behavior and anti-Semitism or remove her from office.

Sim said: “The positions of the Human Rights Council are reflected in the decisions, resolutions and presidential declarations adopted by its 47 member states at the end of each of its sessions.” He further stated: “At this time I have no information on what the Council is doing with regard to Special Procedures Representative may or may not do anything beyond what was recently decided at the just concluded 57th Session.”

Bayefsky said the failure to address Albanese's behavior was upsetting.

“In another scandal, UN Secretary-General Guterres is doing everything he can to protect Albanians and not their victims,” Bayefsky said.

Bayefsky said: “Absolutely nothing would stop him from denouncing her anti-Semitic behavior, demanding her dismissal and presenting the case of her blatant violation of UN codes of conduct to his own UN legal office for next steps.”

Albanese did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment on the anti-Semitism allegations.

Albanese tweeted on October 24 that she was “disappointed” by “false, recycled allegations against me” and she claimed that she is “deeply committed to the human rights of all people.”

Asked whether Albanese's anti-Semitic comments raise concerns as she prepares to tour U.S. colleges, a State Department spokesman told Fox News Digital: “The United States firmly concludes.” [Albanese] is unsuitable for her role or any other role at the United Nations. Our commitment to upholding human rights for all is unwavering and we will continue to fight anti-Semitism.”

The spokesman also described how U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Human Rights Council Michèle Taylor and U.S. Special Envoy on Anti-Semitism Deborah Lipstadt had recently expressed “strong disapproval” of Albanese.

Statements from both US ambassadors published on X condemned Albanese's anti-Semitism. Thomas-Greenfield wrote in part on Hitler's ministers as “reprehensible and anti-Semitic.”

Fox News Digital also asked whether the State Department planned to block Albanese's travel or limit her movement to the immediate United Nations area, a measure it had previously taken with unfriendly foreign diplomats traveling on U.N. business .

A State Department spokesman said the department could not comment because “visa records are confidential under U.S. law.”

Bayefsky condemned the State Department's refusal to restrict Albanese's travel, saying it is “in the business of promoting, spreading and inciting violent anti-Semitism.” The State Department is supposed to protect Jewish Americans from the inflammatory hatred of an international visitor.

“The United States, as a UN host country, is certainly under no obligation to facilitate her travel outside the UN as part of its insidious efforts to reach US campuses. If the State Department refuses to do its job and restrict your visa accordingly, then you are aiding and abetting the spread of anti-Semitism throughout America.

The Anti-Defamation League reported that Albanese's college tour would include visits to Georgetown University, Barnard College and Princeton. She is also reportedly scheduled to speak at John Jay College in New York City during her US visit.
