Murder charge after 16-year-old stabbed to death in north London | UK News

A man has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in Islington, north London.

Deonte Mowatt-Slater was found injured in Courtauld Road just after midnight on Tuesday and died at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said.

An autopsy conducted on Friday revealed the cause of death was stab wounds.

Francie McCarthy, 21, from Tufnell Park, is due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with murder.

Deonte's family continues to receive support from specially trained police officers.

DCI Neil John, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with Deonte’s family at this extremely difficult time. Our investigation is progressing well, but we would continue to encourage anyone who has seen anything or has information to come forward and speak to us.

“Officers from the local policing team continue to carry out patrols in the area and anyone with concerns should contact them or contact the local neighborhood team.”
