All five One Direction albums hit the UK Top 40 following Liam Payne's death

A week after the death of band member Liam Payne, all five of One Direction's albums have returned to top spots in the UK music charts, along with the singer's solo album.

This is reported by the BBC Midnight memoriesthe band's third album, ranks highest at number 13, according to the Official Charts Company, with a reported 517% week-on-week sales increase. Three of the band's singles have also made it back into the charts.

Payne died on October 16 from injuries sustained in a fall from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Fans continued to gather around the hotel and mourn their pop idol with candles, poems and flowers. A vigil was held there last weekend.

All four remaining band members – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson – paid personal tribute to their late bandmate, along with their former manager Simon Cowell and Payne's former partner, singer Cheryl Tweedy. In light of the tragedy, Malik also postponed his tour dates.

Autopsy results from Payne's death were released earlier this week, saying he died from multiple hangers and “internal and external bleeding.”

The BBC reports that his father Geoff is still in Buenos Aires, where he is completing the necessary administrative work to bring his son back to the UK. Geoff arrived in the capital last Friday where he visited the mortuary and also the hotel where Payne died. On his way out, he stopped to look at the many tributes to his son and spoke to the fans gathered there.
