Two juveniles arrested for robbery at Claymont Store

Claymont, DEx – Delaware State Police have arrested two juveniles, ages 12 and 14, in connection with a robbery at the Food Lion parking lot in Claymont. The incident occurred on October 3 at around 7:52 p.m

Three suspects approached a 78-year-old woman near the shopping cart return area and attempted to take her purse. During the ensuing altercation, the contents of the handbag were spilled and a key fob was taken before the suspects fled. The victim remained uninjured.

According to the descriptions, the suspects were black teenage males, two wearing dark clothing and one wearing a light-colored hoodie. Investigators later identified two of the suspects as juveniles who had been arrested.

The 12-year-old was taken into custody on Monday and is facing charges including first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy. The 14-year-old was arrested on Tuesday and also charged, with different bail conditions due to his age. Authorities are continuing to investigate and request information from the public about the incident.
