Six family members were burned to death in a fire caused by a leak in the gas pipe

Six members of a family suffered burn injuries in a fire that broke out due to a leak in a gas pipe in a house in Dahargaon area of ​​Rupganj, Narayanganj on Friday evening.

The injured are Md Babul Hossain, 47; Sheli Akter, 36; Munni Akter, 20; MD Jewel, 22; MD Ismail, 16; and Taslima Akter, 13. They were admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) and are all in critical condition.

Md Jewel Rana, who took the injured to the hospital, said all the injured worked in a garment factory in Rupganj. They suffered burn injuries in the fire that broke out at night when a mosquito coil was lit in the house.

Md Tariqul Islam, a junior doctor at the hospital, said six family members from Rupganj in Narayanganj were burnt in the fire and were rushed to the hospital. They sustained injuries when a fire broke out in the room due to a leaking gas pipe. The condition of the six fire victims is critical, with over 55 percent of their bodies suffering from burns.
