The Chiefs trade for DeAndre Hopkins from the Titans in an NFL blockbuster

Patrick Mahomes has a new No. 1 receiver.

The Chiefs are trading for Titans star DeAndre Hopkins, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

Kansas City will send a conditional fourth-round pick back to Tennessee.

Despite a 6-0 start, the Chiefs' offense struggled for most of the season.

Hopkins will give the team a much-needed boost as it lost its top two receivers – Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown – for the season.

Veteran receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster also suffered a hamstring injury during the team's 28-18 win over the 49ers on Sunday.

The Chiefs are also dealing with the absence of star running back Isiah Pacheco, who broke his fibula and is expected back next month.

While Travis Kelce continues to be a steady weapon for Mahomes, he is no longer the dominant target he once was. The tight end has 28 catches for 245 yards in six games this season and has yet to score a touchdown.

The 32-year-old Hopkins is also in the final stages of his career, but represents a significant improvement over the current options – led by speedy rookie Xavier Worthy.
