Man was arrested following a drug investigation by the Crisp County Sheriff's Office

CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – A man has been taken into custody following a lengthy investigation by the Crisp County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force.

Derrieh Keonte Smith, 48, of Cordele, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 24, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

After receiving multiple complaints of suspected drug activity in the 1200 block of 9th Street South, Drug Task Force investigators began a lengthy investigation.

The investigation then led to Smith's arrest. He was accused of the following:

  • Three counts of sale of cocaine/fentanyl
  • Three counts of selling cocaine/fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a public park

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending, the statement said.
