DANI FILTH of CRADLE OF FILTH says filming the “Malignant Perfection” music video in the Czech Republic was “great fun.”

In an interview with Kati Rausch of Music Interview Corner, singer Dani Filth British extreme metal veterans Cradle of dirt talked about the band's new single. “Vicious Perfection”which arrived on October 22nd just in time for the Halloween season. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It was recorded in the Czech Republic and LA [The video] directed Vicente Cordero and showed, among other things, the talents of Miss Münsterwho was also responsible for the costumes and stage sets KING DIAMOND And SLIPKNOT And ICE NINE KILLS. And yes, it's the video for the first single from our new album. The new album will be released early next year. It will be the first of several singles. Yes, it's like a cinematic visual accompaniment to our first single. I can't describe it much more precisely; You’ll just have to see it for yourself.”

Detailing the video shoot for “Vicious Perfection”, Dani said: “[We filmed it] in the Czech Republic. It was shortly before the first leg of our summer tour. We all live in different parts of the world – America, Scotland, the Czech Republic, England – and so for us this was the starting point of our tour. And we flew in with a crew that was part Australian and part American and basically shot two videos there. The next one will be out in a few months, or I'm honestly not sure when. It is currently under development. And we also did some photo shoots for the new album and for the press. Yes, it was great fun. Very hectic, very busy. We worked long hours because of course we had to do two shoots and photo shoots. And yes, it was a real experience. Then our tour bus came and literally picked us up where we were, in the middle of nowhere, just outside of Brno in the Czech Republic.”

When “Vicious Perfection” was first published, Dani said in a statement: “Our new single and video, “Vicious Perfection”is our horrific homage to All Hallows Eve, embodied by the female deification of evil. It's a perfect musical accompaniment to the spirit of the Ghost Age; They evoke the dark, autumnal splendor and celebrate the time when the line between life and death is at its thinnest and the inhabitants of the Otherworld seek to break through the veil into our world.

“The video, staged by the imitable Vicente Cordero and with the creative masterpieces of one Miss Münsteris a playground of seductive darkness filled with malevolent monsters and cryptic creatures, all voraciously vying for the beholder's eternal soul.

“This comes at a perfect time for the Halloween season and ours “At the Dragon’s Command” UK/Europe autumn tour. It is also the result of a sensational collaboration with a major fashion label Vetement and also Blackcraft clothingand in the fiery wake of a successful sold-out Australian tour.

In a recent interview with Jorge Botas from Portugal's Metal Global, Dani said that “Malignant Perfection” was “the first of a few singles before.” [new CRADLE OF FILTH] The album will be released at the end of March and beginning of April.

He assumes how he thinks fans will react to the new thing Cradle of dirt Material, Dani said: “I think they will love it. It’s just part of the evolution of.” CRADLE. I mean, people ask me to describe it and it's very hard to describe. I'm not going to say, 'You know what?' This is ours “Cold Lake”,” referenced Celtic Frostis the much-maligned album from 1988. “It's just the next evolutionary step for CRADLE. It has everything. There are a lot of things that are atmospherically and sometimes also musically reminiscent of early times CRADLE Things. But then there are a lot of very modern things CRADLE. It has everything.”

Asked if it was still important to him and his Cradle of dirt Bandmates making new music to challenge themselves, Dani said: “I don’t think it’s about challenging ourselves. It's just a matter of finding an outlet for all those pent up emotions. We won't stop with this record. The reason why this record and the last record were delayed a bit was obvious. Because we've been through this damn big pandemic, we're trying to speed up the process, if not sooner. Of course, there are also events and, above all, milestones. That's why it's very important not to overcook or water down the pudding. And everything we do, we want to do it as well as possible and we are happy with it.”

Dani continued: “People are going to love the production on this record. The production is fucking great. And it has it all And catchy doesn't necessarily mean it's not extreme Cradle of dirt record, but it's more than just another one Cradle of dirt record. It’s another milestone.”

Last May dirt told Australian magazine Heavy about the progress of recording sessions for the band's 2021 follow-up “Existence is meaningless” Album: “We’ve already done ours [collaborative] track with [pop superstar and noted CRADLE OF FILTH fan] Ed SheeranAlthough that will probably appear on the special edition of the new album, but I can't say much more about it, all the legal aspects and whatever.”

He continued: “The album we started with [in] July [2023]and our record company asked, 'What's taking you so long?' It's like, “Well, because we're on tour.” We started with the album [and then] We literally went on tour for two months. So, yeah, we’ve been very, very busy.”

Asked about the musical direction of the new one Cradle of dirt Material, Dani said: “It’s a step forward from the last record. Same production values, same producer, although we always approach it differently, so it sounds completely different. I can't go into it too much because no matter what happens.” I say it won't really justify or do justice to the tracks on there. It's very difficult to explain it [elements of] “Twilight… and her embrace” Mood-wise. Vocally it's a bit of everything. It's an aggressive record. It's a very catchy record. Yeah, it's just something that our fans will really like. We worked very hard on it. And the last record was really well received, “Existence is meaningless”. It's progress. But it's not because I'm being told, 'Stay calm.' You can't talk about the record yet.' It's very difficult to talk about something that has so much in it.

Last year, Cradle of dirt released his first live album in over 20 years, “Trouble and her double life”above Napalm Records. The LP was recorded between 2014 and 2019 at the band's various performances in the US, Europe, Australia and beyond “Cryptoriana” World tour and dates to follow. Produced, mixed and mastered by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studioswith recording taken by Danny BThe album not only featured a number of fan favorites from the band's entire discography, but also two bonus tracks and two entirely new songs. “She is a fire” And “Demon Prince Regent”.

In an interview with Decibel, he was asked if the two new songs on the record hint at what's coming next Cradle of dirt Album will sound like, Dani said, “Maybe a little, but no. It's pretty hard to explain, I can't really talk about it. The new album has one “Twilight… and her embrace” mood for it. But no, we moved on from that. After that we started writing as a collective. These were stopgap songs that were originally intended for a new album, but due to the pandemic everything got delayed and they found themselves out there. We just thought it would be best to include them on the new album.”

He added: “A record takes so much time. It is a monument to the career of a band in which a lot of effort and time was invested. It deserves its own place, and every album will have one. “There are so many things that determine what an album is about, a very strong and different identity than the previous one and also the future one.”

In May 2023, Dani was asked by BLABBERMOUTH.NET when he imagines the next thing Cradle of dirt Studio album that remains in the same style as “Cryptoriana” or “Existence is meaningless”. He replied, “It won’t be far away from that.” I worked on some of the material today. We put the finishing touches on the songs we're going to record, regardless of whether they all work the grade or not “Twilight… and her embrace” mood for her. Musically it plays across the board 'Dusk' And 'Midian'but lyrically and in terms of mood it has one “Twilight… and her embrace” feel it. I don't know why. History repeats itself. Maybe it's because we wrote 'Dusk' at this particular time of year, but it has that atmosphere. It sounds great, but that’s what I would say, right?”
