Friendly “Community Food Fight” raises thousands of donations…

If a fight between two communities is supposed to have a positive outcome, then the second annual Community Food Fight between representatives from Suwanee and Sugar Hill was a true testament to the success of such an effort.

Suwanee emerged victorious in this year's Community Food Fight against Sugar Hill, according to a statement from Suwanee's communications and marketing department. The real winners, however, are the residents of northern Gwinnett County, who will benefit from both cities' combined efforts to collect items and food donations for the project.

Suwanee officials say that thanks to the incredible support of their community, Suwanee raised 14,025 pounds of food and $2,195 in donations to help the North Gwinnett Co-Op continue its important work. In total, Suwanee and Sugar Hill's efforts raised an impressive 17,139 pounds of food and $3,680 in support, demonstrating the power of community solidarity.

Sugar Hill officials also thank the community for its help in collecting the items during the month-long effort by residents and community groups behind the project.
