Improved shuttle services and stadium access for fans

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The 83rd annual Magic City Classic presented by McDonald's begins Saturday and organizers are taking additional steps to streamline entry and exit at Legion Field. General manager Perren King outlined several improvements for fans, including a significant expansion of shuttle services and improvements to stadium access points.

Approximately 75 shuttles, including ADA-accessible vehicles, will transport fans to and from the stadium from the Birmingham Crossplex, Park Place and Downtown Birmingham. Travel times are expected to be between 15 and 20 minutes.

Shuttle service from Crossplex begins at 9:30 a.m., while shuttle service from Park Place and Downtown begins at 11:30 a.m. All three run until two hours after the end of the game. There is a $5 shuttle fee for adults, but children under six can ride for free.

King stressed that ticket holders should check the entry gate on their ticket, with staff working with Regions Bank to facilitate and organize entry.

In his words: “So we're doing a few more directional things to say, hey, look, please enter gate five, if you have this pass level, if you have this ticket, please enter gate three.” What What they do is also help greet people outside, remind people of the clear bag rules, remind them to make sure they have the right clutch size, and remind them that there are other goals through which you can enter. We just want to make it a pleasant experience and not result in everyone trying to get in at two o’clock at the same time.”

The shuttles are expected to operate continuously for approximately 12 hours on game day. Gates at Legion Field will open at noon with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m
