Yamamoto dominates, Dodgers take 2-0 lead in World Series

Yoshinobu Yamamoto was great in his World Series debut, allowing one hit in 6 1/3 innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees 4-2 in Game 2.

The Yankees made things interesting in the ninth, scoring a run against closer Blake Treinen before loading the bases with one out. The right-hander struck out Anthony Volpe before being replaced by Alex Vesia, who got pinch-hitter Jose Trevino to fly out on a pitch.

All four of the Dodgers' runs came via the long ball, with Tommy Edman, Teoscar Hernández and Freddie Freeman hitting homers against Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodón, who lasted just 3 1/3 frames.

Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani left the field with a trainer after reportedly injuring his shoulder while attempting to steal second base in the seventh inning.

The series now moves to New York, with Game 3 scheduled for Monday. Clarke Schmidt will start for the Yankees opposite Walker Buehler for the Dodgers.
