Will Kevin Huerter play against the Timberwolves? Kings full injury report

For the first time in six months, Sacramento Kings fans can watch their team play meaningful basketball as the team hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves in their season opener today. But who will the Kings have at their disposal? Who will be missing? In this article we answer all of that and more.

The biggest injury news is the status of Kevin Huerter. After missing the last 15 games of the 2023/24 season due to injury (17 if you count the play-in), Huerter did not see a single second of action in the preseason. Many therefore wondered what status the sniper would have at the start of the season.

Fortunately, Kings fans can rest easy knowing Huerter will be ready for the season opener. Additionally, it appears he will retain his spot in the team's starting lineup (which was filled by Keon Ellis in Huerter's absence). We don't necessarily agree with that at A Royal Pain, but that's another story for another post (this post, to be precise).

It looks like the Kings will start their game against the Timberwolves fairly healthy. In addition to Huerter, Malik Monk (hand) and Trey Lyles (groin) – both of whom also missed games in the preseason – will also be available and ready to contribute to today's game. The two will come off the bench.

Unfortunately, the Kings continue to be without their 2024 first-round pick Devin Carter (shoulder) and their free agent acquisition Orlando Robinson (MCL).

The good news for the Kings is that the Timberwolves will have no excuses if we beat them. Minnesota comes into this game as healthy as you can be in professional sports.

Unlike us, the Timberwolves have already played one game and lost 110-103 to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
