The Suns' Bradley Beal and Grayson Allen were eliminated against the Mavericks

Phoenix Suns guards Bradley Beal and Grayson Allen have been ruled out for Saturday's 2024-25 regular season home opener against the Dallas Mavericks, the team announced.

Josh Okogie (right hamstring strain) will not play, meaning his season debut for the Suns is on hold.

Beal is dealing with right elbow soreness and Allen will miss his second straight game for personal reasons.

In Beal's place, rookie Ryan Dunn will make his first NBA start.

The Mavericks (1-0) had two two-way G League players in Kessler Edwards and Brandon Williams in the game without any areas of injury noted. Guard Dante Exum was the only other player on the Dallas injury report who remains sidelined after undergoing right wrist surgery on Oct. 8.

Beal played more than 35 minutes in each of the first two games (38 and 35), starting 7-for-12 from three-point range. He had nine assists and limited turnovers to two per game in Friday's 123-116 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Allen, who announced over the summer that he was expecting his first child, scored eight points on 2 of 6 shooting from behind the three-point line in Wednesday's 116-113 overtime win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Suns (1-1) face the Mavericks after losing two of three games against the Luka Doncic-led team last season. Devin Booker was the leading scorer in two of those meetings, dropping 46 points in a convincing 132-109 victory on January 24 in Dallas.

The reigning Western Conference champion Mavericks opened their 2024-25 season with a 120-109 home win over the San Antonio Spurs. Doncic and freshman teammate Klay Thompson combined for 50 points and 17 rebounds.
