Shaquille O'Neal receives backlash over comments about Angel Reese's outfit

NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal appeared on the latest episode of the Unapologetically Angel podcast, hosted by Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese.

Reese and Shaq have a great relationship that began as former LSU Tigers and has since evolved into a mentorship role on and off the court.

Despite the criticism he has received, O'Neal is an outspoken advocate for the WNBA lowering its limits to allow players to immerse themselves, which he believes would bring more intrigue and attention to the women's game.

This topic was addressed again in his “Unapologetically Angel” episode. However, he cited the reaction from basketball fans as an example of why the lowered rims would attract more attention.

“Imagine wearing the same little shorts you wore when dunking on the Wild 'N Out show,” Shaq told Reese. “You know how many t-shirts you’re going to sell, you idiot.”

“Oh my God,” Reese replied, looking a little surprised.

“The same little shorts you had on at Wild 'N Out… I'm just saying,” Shaq added, while Reese tried to stop him by saying over him, “Okay, alright, alright, in Order.”

Many fans weren't feeling Shaq's comments during this exchange.

“I'm glad she gave the man that energy,” one X user wrote in response to the clip.

Another fan added: “Home Girl is clearly uncomfortable.”

“Shaq should know better that was just weird I can't even lie,” a third wrote.

Apparently, fans agree that Shaq's ideas for marketing women's basketball should have focused more on the game.
