The Washington Commanders quarterback is expected to start Sunday against the Chicago Bears

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is doing better and will likely start today's game against the Chicago Bears.

According to multiple reports, the team will make a final decision after seeing how Daniels feels after a pregame warmup, but he is leaning toward playing against the Bears. Daniels, who suffered a rib injury last week, was a limited participant in practice on Friday after not practicing on Wednesday and Thursday. He took part in the team's through training session on Saturday.

If Daniels overcomes the rib injury he suffered last week, he will face Chicago's Caleb Williams. Williams and Daniels were the first two players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft and the two most recent Heisman Trophy winners.

If Daniels cannot go, he will be replaced by backup Marcus Mariota. Mariota came on for Daniels late in the first quarter and completed 18 of 23 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns in the team's 40-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 7.
