Jaguars key guard Trevor Lawrence receives an important injury update for Week 8

It's hard to say if the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) are starting to figure things out or if they're just benefiting from weak competition. The early signs seem to point to the latter, but for the team to make a real turnaround this season, its offensive line will need to be intact. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence should be encouraged by the latest update regarding one of his trusted protectors.

Veteran left tackle Cam Robinson practices againsaid Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times Union. With the 2015 national champion still waiting to clear concussion protocol, he has yet to be declared active for the Jaguars' Week 8 game against the Green Bay Packers (5-2). That's a good sign, though.

Robinson left last Sunday's victory over the New England Patriots after suffering a concussion. Even though he only played five offensive snaps, the O-line didn't allow a single sack. As a result, Lawrence experienced efficient use through the air and sailed to the victory (15 of 20 for 193 yards and a touchdown). Robinson's presence will be far more valuable against a Packers defense that just suffocated CJ Stroud.

Jacksonville is desperate for stability and the trenches are an ideal place to begin building a solid foundation. According to Pro Football Focus, Robinson has given up four sacks this year and has a pass blocking grade of 72.2. On the field, he and the rest of this team must reach their full potential. Otherwise, it could be another disappointing season for this struggling franchise.
