Caldwell County murder suspect arrested and held on $1 million bond

DALE, Texas – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a murder investigation after a man was found dead in Caldwell County last month.

Jody Lee Ramos, 34, was taken into custody Monday and is being held in the Caldwell County Jail on $1 million bail, according to the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.

Officers responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 400 block of Mustang Meadow Run in Dale around 1 a.m. on Sept. 25. They found the victim dead at the scene.

Investigators have not released the identity of the victim or the circumstances surrounding the death, although officials have previously indicated it was an isolated incident that did not pose an ongoing threat to the public.
