Speakers reiterate Trump rhetoric at Madison Square Garden

Hugo Lowell

Donald Trump's The warm-up speakers at the Madison Square Garden rally were at times crude and xenophobic, apparently in an attempt to double down on Trump's rhetoric and appeal to the hardcore fans here.

The remarks are, in some ways, nothing new — Trumpworld celebrities typically speak in dark and visceral terms to copy Trump and win over his base — but they were particularly clear on Sunday.

From the beginning, Tony Hinchcliffe, The host of the Kill Tony podcast stirred up racist hostilities about Latinos and African Americans, suggesting that they were illegal immigrants

“Latinos love making babies,” Hichcliffe said to loud laughter. “There is no taking off. They come in, just like they do in our country.”

“Right now there is literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean. I think it’s called Puerto Rico,” Hinchcliffe also said.

Then the radio presenter Sid Rosenberg tended to attack Democrats and used ad hominem insults to describe Hillary Clinton – a villain to Trump supporters who mocked her.

“Hillary Clinton. What a sick son of a bitch. The whole damn party. A bunch of degenerates. Lowlifes, Jew-haters and lowlifes. Every single one of them. Every single one of them,” Rosenberg said.

And Tucker Carlsonthe former Fox News host, who lost his primetime slot after the network was sued for defamation for spreading false claims of election fraud in 2020, went after Kamala Harris.

“As the first low-IQ Samoan Malaysian and former California prosecutor ever elected president,” Carlson mistakenly said in a mocking tone about Harris's racial background, “no, she's not impressive.”

Kamala Harris unveiled her plan for Puerto Rico, the economically struggling US territory

The vice president said she would create an “opportunity economics task force” to promote economic growth in the Caribbean archipelago by creating more jobs.

She also recognized the need to urgently rebuild Puerto Rico's energy grid. The US territory is still dealing with the aftermath of multiple hurricanes that devastated the power grid. Puerto Rico is also suffering the effects of austerity measures imposed by an unelected finance board after the local government declared the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history.

“I will cut through red tape to ensure disaster relief funds are deployed quickly and effectively, and work with leaders across the island to ensure all Puerto Ricans have access to reliable, affordable electricity,” she said.

“I'll never forget what Donald Trump “What he did and what he didn’t do when Puerto Rico needed a caring and incompetent leader,” she said. “He left the island, tried to block aid after back-to-back devastating hurricanes, and offered nothing but paper towels and insults,” she added.
