Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers Week 8 Sunday Night Football Game Picks, Open Thread

There's certainly a lot to talk about after the Buffalo Bills' Week 8 road win over the Seattle Seahawks. We get it: The Bills game just ended over an hour ago, so fans may have a hard time focusing on today's game Football on Sunday evenings Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers matchup.

The NFL waits for no one and refuses to deny its spotlight at every turn – even as I try to write this open thread in time for a late Bills win. So let's go! The Niners entered tonight's game against the Cowboys as a 5.5-point home favorite (-5.5) with FanDuel Sportsbook. Both teams have endured their fair share of adversity, but it's pretty clear that most bettors view the 49ers as the superior team.

Bills Mafia should be cheering on San Francisco tonight. Why? As Rachel Auberger explains in her Buffalo Bills guide to rooting interest in Week 8, there are two reasons:

Buffalo will host the 49ers right after their bye week and has a relatively low SOS score right now, so it's in their best interest to play teams with no losing records. The 49ers have five weeks to get their record above .500, and this week would be a good opportunity for them to move in that direction.

At the same time, the Steelers lost to the Cowboys earlier this month, so a Dallas loss would lower their SOS score while increasing Buffalo's. There's a two-for-one special here.

Sign me up for a Niners win, which means I can't resist picking them tonight:
San Francisco 49ers 28, Dallas Cowboys 17

Here is your open thread for week 8 of Football on Sunday evenings. As always, be kind to one another and in all things… Go Bills!
