Heartstopper's Kit Connor reacts to a viral scene

Heart stopper Star Kit Connor has reacted to his viral scene with Marvel's Hayley Atwell.

The third season of the hit Netflix show debuted earlier this month, reuniting fans with Connor's character Nick Nelson, Joe Locke's Charlie Spring and their friends at Truham Grammar School.

This season also introduced us to some new faces, including Nick's Aunt Diane, played by Atwell.

In a particularly poignant scene that has gone viral online, Nick confided in his aunt about Charlie's eating disorder and broke down in tears as he admitted he struggles to support his friend without telling her friends or Charlie's parents.

Diane told Nick that it wasn't his responsibility to help Charlie, no matter how much he loved him. She added that Charlie needed help from professionals who understand eating disorders and know how to properly treat them.

Despite widespread praise for his performance, Connor claimed that he did not consider the scene to be his best work and was surprised to learn that it had gone viral.

“Hayley really did a great job in this scene. Really. It was difficult to shoot this scene because we had an hour to shoot it. And it’s not short,” he said TeenVogue.

“To be honest, I was really worried… But I'm glad people like it. I tried to watch it and I thought, I’m not very good at this scene.”

Meanwhile, Locke previously opened up about his mental health struggles and what it was like committing to the storyline in an interview with Charlie Digital spysaid: “It's strange to say it was exciting because obviously it's not an exciting thing to see.”

“But as an actor it's always nice to be able to portray something with as much authenticity and truthfulness as possible, which has always been my goal.”

“Alice [Oseman] I wrote the story in such a way that there is so much love and empathy in it, but also truthfulness and the ability to not hide from the darkness, which I think makes it so successful.”

Heart stopper Seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix.
