49ers place Aiyuk on IR, promote Anderson to 53-man roster and other moves

The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have promoted DL Evan Anderson from the team's practice squad to the active roster. To make room on the roster, the team placed WR Brandon Aiyuk on the injured reserve list. Additionally, the team added OL Dieter Eiselen and WR Malik Turner to the team's practice squad.

Anderson (6-3, 326) originally entered the NFL after signing with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2024. He appeared in two games and registered four tackles, 1.0 sack, 1.0 tackle for loss and a forced fumble.

The 22-year-old Orlando Anderson native attended Florida Atlantic University, where he appeared in 39 games and recorded 145 tackles, 20.0 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, three fumble recoveries and 2 passes defended.

Eiselen (6-4, 300) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2020. During his five-year career with the Bears (2020-22), Houston Texans (2023-24). ) and Denver Broncos (2024), he has appeared in 24 regular season games and two postseason contests. Eiselen signed with the Broncos' practice squad on October 8, 2024, before being released by the team on October 19.

The 28-year-old Wallingford, CT native Eiselen attended Yale University, where he appeared in 24 games and was named to the First-Team All-Ivy League in his final season (2018).

Turner (6-2, 202) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on July 29, 2018. During his six-year career with the Seahawks (2018-19), Dallas Cowboys (2020-21). ) and San Francisco 49ers (2022), he appeared in 44 games (three starts) and recorded 29 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns. Turner appeared in three games with the 49ers in 2022. He then spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans practice squads and spent 2023 training camp with the Indianapolis Colts. In 2024, Turner signed with the 49ers on July 25 and was released by the team on August 8.

Turner, 28, is from Springfield, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois, where he appeared in 46 games (35 starts) and registered 143 receptions for 1,804 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Aiyuk (6-0, 200) started all seven games in which he appeared and totaled 25 receptions for 374 yards this season.
