The queens of the Las Vegas residency had an emotional encounter at Caesars Palace on Saturday evening.

Adele plunged into the sea of ​​fans at her Colosseum show during “When We Were Young” when she spotted Céline Dion discreetly sitting in a box next to the soundboard, as captured in a video posted by @sophxadelexf1 on X. Tears flowed from both of them. and the two superstar singers appeared overwhelmed as they hugged, held hands and talked. At one point, Dion hugged Adele's face, placed Adele's hand on her right cheek and kissed her, then leaned in for a few final words.

“Give it up for Miss Céline Dion!” a tearful Adele, 36, announced to the crowd after returning to the stage, and Dion, 56, stood and waved before retreating to her seat, her face covered in tissues while being comforted by her younger sons, 14 years old. old twins Nelson Angélil and Eddy Angélil. The audience cheered, clapped and gave a standing ovation, and in one clip fans could be heard excitedly repeating “Oh my God!” as the moment unfolded.

Both stars were dressed in their diva best for the gathering, which took place at the venue built for Dion's 2003 A New Day residency. Adele wore a loose black dress with a portrait neckline decorated with glittering black baubles, her hair long and loose. Dion wore a slinky black dress with an asymmetric cut at the shoulder, a dramatic choker around her neck and her hair pulled back in a bun.

Since 2022, Dion has struggled with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes debilitating muscle spasms. The condition has kept her away from the concert stage, except for her recent performance at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

Adele's final Weekends With Adele show takes place on November 23 and the singer says she will be taking an “incredibly long break” after that.

“I've spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now,” she told fans at a Munich concert in August, where she announced her plan to take a break. “I want to live the life I’ve built and I’m going to miss you terribly.”
