Paul Mescal got into fighting shape during filming preparations Gladiator IIand now he's talking about his diet.

The 28-year-old actor is at the center of the long-awaited sequel to the original blockbuster in which he starred Russell Crowe.

Big action films are often associated with the transformation of muscular bodies Paul spoke about him in a recent interview. He revealed two things that he would not give up in his preparations.

“It involves a lot of chicken breasts and heavy lifting.” Paul said meanwhile The Graham Norton Show. “My coach won’t mind me saying this, but my coach is the greatest man I’ve ever seen in my life.”

He continued, remembering that when they first met, his trainer had him strip down to his underwear so he could inspect his body.

“I’m standing there in my underwear. I'm a little hungover and he just starts circling me like a shark. Just process,” Paul said. “He says, ‘Okay. There's a canvas to work with. Then you basically start evaluating my body parts and say, 'The arms are what we're going to struggle with.'”

“It’s an absolute first world problem.” Paul remarked and explained that he worked with the top trainer and had meals delivered so he could stick to his diet.

While he did “everything” his coach asked, Paul had to do things he didn't want to give up – smoking and drinking.

“I did everything he asked me to do, but I like to drink and smoke, so I've drawn a line on that end,” he said via Us Weekly.
