Jenkintown Dance Arts will host the third annual Fight & Fright Cancer Fundraiser on October 27, with tickets still available

Jenkintown Dance Arts will host its third annual Fight & Fright, a Halloween fundraiser for cancer, on Sunday, October 27th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Abington Art Center.

The event coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and includes dance performances, face painting, games, a costume contest, a Halloween dance party, a haunted house and more.

All proceeds will be donated to the national nonprofit Unite for HER. The event raised $2,000 in 2023.

A note from Miss Stephanie, an instructor at Jenkintown Dance Arts:

October is here and with it comes Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For the past few years, Miss Chrissie and I have organized JDA's Fight & Fright, a fundraiser to benefit local nonprofit Unite for HER (UFH). UFH provides free goods and services to individuals suffering from breast and ovarian cancer. I first learned about UFH in March 2022 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Shortly after diagnosis, my medical team helped me obtain UFH membership status and what followed was incredible. Gift cards, health and beauty items, fresh fruits and vegetables, massages, nutritional support and the list goes on and on…all FREE. There are no costs to me at all. Very helpful at a time when medical bills were starting to pile up! I wanted to give something back to this organization every year.
