NFL teams eat a ridiculous amount of Uncrustables

Uncrustables aren't just for kids' lunch boxes. According to a new report from The athleteNFL teams are obsessed with the frozen PB&Js, devouring at least 80,000 sandwiches throughout the football season.

24 of 32 NFL teams agreed to improve their PB&J data as part of the outlet's scientific search. These numbers showed that the Denver Broncos consumed the most Uncrustables of the participating teams, at 700 per week. That's more than twice as much as any other participating team.

Next up were the Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins, each completing 320, 315 and 300 uncrustables per week, respectively. Of the participating teams, the Cincinnati Bengals and New Orleans Saints ate the least amount of the snack, just 50 pieces per week.

Adding up the weekly numbers from the 24 groups shows that NFL teams overall eat between 3,600 and 4,300 sandwiches per week. Over a year, that's enough sandwiches to fill 18 meters of a football field.

While the sandwiches aren't exactly the best diet for professional athletes, they do provide carbohydrates, fat, and protein.

As for what makes the snack so popular with NFL players, alum Jeff Saturday praised: “You could throw your playbook at it, it didn’t make a difference. Bruised, unbruised, you will crush it.”

Today, the outlet reported that San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle eats up to six Uncrustables while traveling to away games. Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna and Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker are also vocal fans.

The outlet further noted this on its popular page New heights On the podcast, Chiefs tight Travis Kelce said he consumes more Uncrustables than “anything else in the world.”
