RCSD: Man arrested in connection with armed bank robbery

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– RCSD said a man was arrested in connection with an armed robbery at First Citizens Bank last Tuesday.

Deputies said Willie Lee Moses II was arrested in connection with an armed robbery at 7039 Parklane Road (First Citizens Bank) that occurred around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15th

RCSD said officers were told that a man, later identified as Willie Lee Moses II, entered the bank, handed the teller a handwritten note stating it was an armed robbery and money demanded.

Moses was able to leave the bank with money before officers arrived on the scene.

Investigators identified Moses based on previous investigations in which he was involved and issued a warrant for his arrest in connection with the bank robbery.

Additionally, the Sheriff's Department said officers responded to a disturbance at 200 Zimalcrest Drive on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Moses was also identified as a troublemaker in this incident and was taken into custody.

He was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and charged with entering a bank with intent to steal. In relation to the Oct. 19 incident, Moses was charged with possession of less than one gram of meth or cocaine base.
