Jerod Mayo offers more insight into the Patriots trade candidate's bench choice

With the NFL trade deadline just over a week away, it was notable that Patriots pass rusher Joshua Uche was inactive during Sunday's win over the Jets.

Uche, who is on a one-year deal, was not listed on the Patriots' injury report. He was a trade candidate last season but ultimately stayed with the Patriots.

“It was just a healthy scratch and we also wanted to put together the best team that would give us the best chance to win,” head coach Jerod Mayo said Monday morning about Uche’s absence.
