At least one dead in explosion in warehouse in Bologna – TopNews

One person was killed in an explosion in a warehouse in Bologna on Wednesday.


The powerful explosion occurred at around 5:20 p.m. in a factory on Via Persicetana Vecchia in the Borgo Panigale district of Bologna. It is a warehouse belonging to “Toyota Material Handling”, a multinational company that deals with the handling of goods.


It is believed that a compressor exploded and the explosion caused part of the warehouse to collapse.


Firefighters, 118 emergency services with a helicopter and the police rushed to the scene of the accident.


Initial information suggests that there is one victim and at least three seriously injured. Investigations are currently underway to find out whether there are people under the rubble.
