Which store will open next door? Bob's Burgers this week? Federal prints? Prison hunters? Jay Johnston, comedian and former voice actor for Jimmy Pesto Bob's Burgerswas sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison after pleading guilty to his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, NBC News reports. “Since his indictment in July 2023, the government has consistently overstated Mr. Johnston’s attendance at the Capitol that day: because he is a celebrated Hollywood actor and the government is using his status to make a point to the public,” Johnstons said Attorney Stanley Woodward wrote in an Oct. 25 sentencing memorandum. Johnston was arrested in June 2023 on charges of aggravated obstruction of officers during a riot and several misdemeanors. He was filmed with a stolen riot police riot shield and, along with another group of rioters, pushed a police officer guarding the entrance to the Capitol. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to interfering with police officers and was ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution.
